Akanthos design and manufacture for individual clients, leading interior designers and architects worldwide. Each design is completely unique but maintains the best features and proportions of a period piece, to reproduce the authentic look and feel of that era. We also apply all these standards when creating contemporary styles.

Traditional Workmanship

Our policy is to create a piece of furniture to the highest standard achievable, inside and out, which is why we use traditional methods such as hand dovetailing and hand carving.

All our furniture is French polished by hand and extra attention is paid to the finer detail to meet our customers exacting standards, in even the unseen areas.

Traditional Materials

We source only the finest timbers and veneers in order to match the quality and appearance of any period's furniture. Fabrics and fittings are of the highest specification and the closest match possible to period originals.
